The Director of K-12 Facilities is a key leadership role responsible for managing the Facilities Team, enhancing team capacity, and fostering new client relationships. The role focuses on ensuring effective project assignment and driving growth through client engagement.

What You’ll Do

Business Development and Project Coordination:

  • Lead business development efforts to grow the K-12 Facilities practice in CA, and beyond.
  • Work with our sales team to ensure we have the appropriate go to market strategy for our Facilities Services offerings
  • Coordinate with the team on capacity and ability to deliver on work at new district partners.

Client Relationships And Growth

  • Focus on establishing and nurturing new client relationships at K-12 Districts.
  • Develop and implement strategies for client engagement and retention.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and Facilities service expansion.

Operational Excellence

  • Deliver meaningful Facilities work at K-12 districts in CA, and beyond.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in K-12 facilities management.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance how we deliver our work with our District partners.
  • Be able to effectively work with all relevant Facilities stakeholders in K-12 Districts, including vendors.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively, ensuring cost-effective project delivery.

Business Planning

  • Contribute to the development and execution of long-term strategic plans for the K-12 Facilities team.
  • Anticipate future challenges and proactively develop solutions to address them.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align facilities management activities with organizational goals.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in K-12 facilities management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, coordinating projects, and developing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 facilities management principles and practices in CA, including OPSC, DSA, CDE, etc.
  • Solid background in Bond Planning, Program Management, and State and Local requirements for facility funding & construction.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Must be based in California with a willingness to travel frequently to client sites.
