Essential Functions

  • Oversee IT operations and supervise systems and IT staff
  • Deploy strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure (computer and information systems, security, communication systems)
  • Implement the direction for the strategic development and support for the respective programs/applications
  • Communicate and assess needs and implementation of strategies to link practice guidelines to practice-based electronic medical records systems, including recommendations on future direction for health care informatics within the organization
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
  • Develop and communicate processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support systems
  • Provide strategic oversight of the IT/EHR support team who manage and implement the day-to-day tracking of area specific content and integrated development of project milestones in every phase
  • Ensures quality and timeliness of final deliverable achieved by the department
  • Maintain ongoing communications and collaboration with the providers, CIO, CEO and operational leaders within IMS including timeline, sequencing, and operational readiness approach
  • Manage relationships with vendor resources for their respective programs/applications
  • Manage EHR/PM system upgrades and hotfixes
  • Oversee Interface management
  • Data base build, modification, and management
  • Ongoing build and customization
  • Drive EHR-related best practice project management methodologies for EHR adoption
  • Perform specialized, integrated, information system analysis, design, test for implementation(s)
  • Complete system design for implementation and optimization of EHR modules
  • Supports go-live, ongoing maintenance and enhancements
  • MIPS/ MACRA/ Meaningful Use data quality and yearly attestation
  • Analyze data within the EMR to assist staff and providers in UDS, HEDIS, PCMH, and other compliance programs and standards
  • Manage and maintain all third-party applications (ex. Dragon, Lab interfaces, EDI services etc.)
  • Create, utilize and implement customized training curriculum to train and instruct the physician’s office staff on the use the features of the electronic practice management and electronic medical records software effectively
  • Supports integration and architecture requirements for affiliated medical health information exchange (HIE)

Nonessential Functions

  • Provide leadership, support and management for team leads and project resources
  • Identify and foster talent in all team members Attend and actively participate in inter and intra departmental meetings, as requested
  • Knowledge on how to customize EHR templates and create documents with document builder software
  • Extensive knowledge on medical record, HIPAA, and security laws
  • Creating and managing provider, technician and nursing schedule
  • Constant analysis of schedule productivity Directly and remotely support the physicians and physician office staff in the use of the software
  • Perform other duties as assigned Hours may vary and be outside of normal office hours depending on business needs

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunication systems
  • Knowledge of practice management and training development
  • Experience in staff training and development; implementing or training in practice management systems, desired
  • Strong background in various physician practice management systems
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Citrix, MS Exchange, and knowledge of IT hardware required
  • Athena experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of project management principals
