HR Business Partner, Director - Product & Engineering
The Role
Proofpoint, Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Director, HR Business Partner to support our Product & Engineering HRBP function and support organizational growth and innovation. As a key member of the HR team, you will collaborate closely with senior executives and business leaders within the Product & Engineering organization to align HR strategies with business objectives, drive talent management initiatives, and foster leadership development to optimize organizational performance.

Base Pay Range 189,750.00 - 278,300.00 USD
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska
Base Pay Range 158,400.00 - 232,320.00 USD
All other cities and states excluding those listed above

HR Business Partner, Director - Product & Engineering
The Role
Proofpoint, Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Director, HR Business Partner to support our Product & Engineering HRBP function and support organizational growth and innovation. As a key member of the HR team, you will collaborate closely with senior executives and business leaders within the Product & Engineering organization to align HR strategies with business objectives, drive talent management initiatives, and foster leadership development to optimize organizational performance.
Your day-to-day
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and organizational design to support growth and scalability.
- Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and talent development strategies.
- Collaborate with HR centers of excellence to deliver innovative solutions in areas such as compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Lead change management efforts to support organizational transformation and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, monitor KPIs, and provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in HR roles, with at least 2-3 years in an HRBP capacity supporting technology or engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior executives and business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that drive business success within technical domains.
- Strong expertise in talent management, organizational development, and HR best practices relevant to Product & Engineering functions.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive strategic decision-making and measure HR impact on business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively across technical and business functions.
- Proven leadership experience, inspiring and leading teams to deliver impactful HR solutions and initiatives within technical or engineering-focused environments.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
