This is a leadership role for JBT and an exciting career opportunity to expand global sourcing strategies in Electrical category grouping which includes electromechanical and electronics categories to help JBT grow through organic positioning and strategic acquisitions and mergers. This sourcing leadership role has global scope in products, manufacturing, and supply chain with category and procurement teams located globally. Overall supply chain strategy is inspired at the center as one JBT where the agreement and execution is at your team level to support flexibility. This strategic role is responsible for $200M+ of Electrical direct materials spend that are either outsourced or produced internally. You will have direct reports.

As the leader of supply chain operational projects and strategies for Electrical spend categories affecting over thirty (30) manufacturing facilities. This spend continues to grow in scope through multiple efforts in make/buy, acquisitions, organic global/regional expansion. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful and experienced sourcing leader in a visible leadership position with a career path of continued strategic contributions and advancement. You will have an office at JBT Chicago headquarters or at business location or a remote office.

The Opportunity ...

You will report to the VP, Global Sourcing - Directs and be a leadership role for the JBT center led supply chain. You will lead multiple supply chain programs and teams including JBT wide sourcing waves, make buy strategies, process improvements, and category and supplier development plans. This supply chain leadership role is accountable for organizing, directing, and influencing procurement, engineering, and operations to lead the transformation to supply chain excellence. You will be responsible for a direct team of category and sourcing managers / professionals located in the US, EU, and Asia along with influencing procurement and teams on global supply chain strategy and implementation at multiple manufacturing facilities across JBT.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop supply chain strategies and total cost improvement programs for the major 80/20 Electrical category grouping spend aligned with JBT business, divisions, and corporate priorities to increase QDCR - Quality Delivery Cost Relationship.
  • Leading us with wide Make Buy sourcing initiative for electrical control panels including core competence assessments, productivity plans at JBT manufacturing sites, and right sizing the supply base.
  • Deploy best practice to organize components and products into families and kits based on type, process, materials, promoting procurement, and operational efficiency.
  • Support part normalization and VA/VE efforts by category and products to use product supply and specifications to reduce total costs.
  • Implement Supplier Quality, Assessment and Performance programs across JBT Electrical category grouping to evaluate and qualify suppliers for businesses, technical categories, and products to develop capable suppliers, strengthen supplier selection, performance, and reduce risk in the supply chain.
  • Develop full annual productivity plans and three-year strategic plans for the Electrical supply chain inclusive of Make Buy, Category /Supplier development, product standardization and capital investment plans.
  • Develop alternative suppliers for sole or single source relationships and ensure new technology conversion minimizing end of life (EOL) product supply challenges.
  • Bring a supplier concentration strategy to right size the supply base, reduce distributors and develop more direct manufacturing relationships in important subcategories promoting supply continuity and tension.
  • Manage multiple teams through developing and training talent to optimize performance, professional and personnel growth promoting high-performance team output.
  • Support an independent aftermarket part supply program with divisional supply chain and commercial leaders ensuring dedicated supplier capacity, inventory programs and quick turn lead times.
  • Build/nurturing internal business and external strategic supplier relationships on a local, regional, and global level.
  • Incorporate/refine multiple supply chain and sourcing tool sets including structured sourcing processes, category management, supplier management, material optimization, risk management, and supply base development.
  • Support deployment and training on continuous improvement (RCI) toolset to lead total cost savings including working capital programs and supplier performance improvement for Electrical category grouping and higher level BOM products.
  • Lead/develop high impact supplier relationships according to leadership across multiple industries and businesses inclusive of and establishing strategic supplier agreements.
  • Promote team communication and facilitate rigorous project management within all levels of our JBT supply chain teams
  • Ensure financial controls are maintained and followed through with any required in-depth analysis. This includes full budgetary responsibility and accountability for all areas managed.


Education

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain from an accredited university
  • An advanced degree (MBA) or commensurate experience.
  • Lean Certification Green Belt or higher
  • 7-10 years' experience
  • A.P.I.C.S. or N.A.P.M. certifications are.


Travel
