The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization whose mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improve the quality of life for the children and adults affected by these diseases. Our work is dramatically accelerating the research process through our varied research initiatives; we also provide extensive educational and support resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public. In addition, we lead federal and state-based advocacy campaigns to support medical research funding and improve patient access to care. Position Summary:

The Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement is a lead fundraising position responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies that generate revenue in support of the Foundation’s mission including, but not limited to, special events, major giving and corporate/foundation giving. The Director directly partners with leadership volunteers and committees to influence growth and drive success and is a partner with the Executive Director and other chapter staff, to secure revenue for the Foundation. The Director will implement best practices and cultivate partnerships and alliances that will promote growth and awareness in the community.

This position requires 2 days/week in the Foundation's Atlanta office and 3 days/week remote. The salary range for the role is $79,000 - $83,000 per year.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Take a lead role in planning, directing and implementing special events to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals
  • In partnership with national and local staff, analyze and improve existing events by ensuring best practices are implemented.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with chapter staff on event logistics and project management
  • Recruit, engage and manage volunteer leaders and committee members to assist in implementing the fundraising strategies that lead to revenue growth.
  • Partner with Regional/Executive Director in the execution of individual/foundation/corporate giving initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage budget (income and expense) and work plan (with timeline and deliverables) for the successful completion of fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files for fundraising events, programs and activities and routinely review the status of each with the Regional/Executive Director.
  • Conduct planning and evaluative meetings with Regional/Executive Director and assigned volunteers relative to each fundraising event, program and activity.
  • Assist with the cultivation, stewardship, solicitation, follow-up and recognition of individual donors and corporate and foundation supporters
  • Oversee the production of all collateral materials related to fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks required to support all new and/or proposed fundraising events, programs and activities.
  • Support all other chapter fundraising activities and engage with other fundraising staff to drive organizational growth.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of successful not-for-profit fundraising, preferably with a health-related organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership success in the recruitment, engagement, and cultivation of high-impact volunteers.
  • Demonstrated track record in committee development within fundraising campaigns.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with public speaking ability that will inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to teach, mentor and coach volunteers to achieve results.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with staff, board members, volunteers and donors.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented leader with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of diplomacy, patience, and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft suite and other technology, communications and donor platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SalesForce, etc.).
