Job Description Summary

Director Franchise Sales & Marketing, New Hotels fosters brand equity and visible value by consulting and supporting assigned hotels focused on property revenue performance and operational effectiveness. Serving as the primary face of the brand for assigned hotels, the position develops meaningful hotel owner and operator relationships through authentic engagements.

The position is responsible for a dynamic collection of new hotel’s pre and post opening operations and revenue development strategies and tactics. Partnering with hotel sales and operations leadership, the position is responsible for optimizing both revenue growth trajectory and velocity to heighten owner satisfaction with topline revenue delivery. The position consults, educates, and activates effective sales, marketing, and operational best practices to influence revenue growth.

Job Description

  • Achieves sales and marketing objectives by:
    • Conducting new hotel market assessment and capturing business intelligence insights to identify sales opportunities in all channels.
    • Developing, activating, and tracking written sales and marketing plans with new hotels which serve to support local sales and marketing efforts, and which leverage Sonesta Global Sales key accounts, brand tools, and resources.
    • Keeps Sonesta revenue generation teams informed of new hotels market attributes, business drivers, and new opportunities.
    • Participates in prospecting for new business by making in-market sales calls to develop and deliver qualified sales lead opportunity as regional events are scheduled.
  • Partners with the Franchise Onboarding team to ensure Business Readiness with sales and marketing strategies, tactics, and revenue channels via local sales and marketing tactics and coordination and implementation of brand programs. Partners with the Franchise Onboarding team to assess Product Readiness to help inform opening decisions.
  • Conducts on-property business performance consultative visits with owners / operators Analyzes, develops, and delivers Business Performance 360 consultative reviews and business improvement recommendations to drive revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Partners with the regional Franchise Services Manager regarding hotel performance and any escalated support issues.
  • Conducts a minimum monthly call to each assigned hotel to foster relationships and ensure actions and results are monitored for effectiveness.
  • Conducts periodic training on-property, at in-region Townhalls and Brand Conferences related to brand programs, standards, and other assigned curriculum.
  • Monitors and follows-up with hotels regarding completion of action items such as PIP, RFPs, and other time sensitive obligations.
  • Develops and implements regular sales performance reporting for new hotels until assigned to the Regional Director Operations & Revenue Development.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Experienced. Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree. 5+ years professional multi-unit hotel and above-property sales and revenue generation leadership.

  • Technically Proficient. Proficient knowledge of desktop productivity tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, electronic scheduling and e-mail systems, business intelligence analysis tools, hotel sales and catering, and CRM systems.
  • Organized. Highly organized and demonstrate success as a self-starter and ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines. You must have the ability to multi-task across different disciplines and time zones utilizing multiple forms of communication including email, telephone, and written correspondence.
  • Passionate. You create and deliver best in class hotel operations and sales support and take professional and personal interest in the success of your stakeholders.
  • Flexible. You are adaptable and enjoy moving with changing business needs and priorities. Up to 70% travel including some international travel.
  • Resourceful. You are collaborative, routinely interacting with key stakeholders and subject matter experts. You are constantly seeking ways to accomplish work efficiently and effectively, socializing best practices with teammates and supervisors.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $100,000 to $125,000. Base pay offer may vary depending on various factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific/overall experience
