Director, Event Services
Summary: Festivities seeks a dynamic, experienced, and hands-on Director of Event Services to lead our largest operational team. This role ensures Festivities delivers exceptional event experiences by focusing on building, managing, and motivating our event production and warehouse teams. We seek an enthusiastic team leader who will actively further company goals and champion the Services department. The ideal candidate possesses a strong leadership background, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to earn the trust of a hardworking team while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Experience in the events industry is helpful but not essential; we value strong management skills and a positive, hands-on attitude above all else.
Work Hours: The days and hours of this position may evolve as the individual finds their footing and where the greatest need is. We anticipate typical in-office hours may be Tuesday through Saturday. At this seniority level, availability by phone or email outside of regular hours is occasionally expected.
Responsibilities
Company Leadership
Act as an enthusiastic, positive team leader, a strong listener, and a true team player willing to do what needs to be done to get the job done.
Serve as a thought leader within the company and champion the Events Services team as a key business driver.
Talent Management
Continuously recruit, hire, and onboard exceptional new team members to ensure Festivities is fully staffed and prepared to meet growing demand.
Develop and execute comprehensive training programs (with clear documentation) in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure team members are highly skilled and knowledgeable.
Motivate, mentor, and create a culture of accountability, high-performance standards, and celebration of achievement within the department.
Operational Excellence
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across pre-production, production, and warehouse operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality.
Analyze and refine workflows and processes for optimal productivity, identifying areas for improvement.
Work closely with the General Manager to determine staffing needs, ensuring Festivities has the workforce to handle event volume and sales growth.
Take a buck stops here mentality to ensure the team meets the deliverables and standard of excellence on all services aspects, including pre-production warehouse care of goods, driving and delivery, event production, and more.
Performance Management & Metrics
Develop and track key performance metrics (customer satisfaction, event profitability, employee retention, etc.) to measure the success of the Event Services department.
Analyze data, providing insights for continuous improvement of operations.
Team Leadership & Partnership
Earn the respect and trust of our talented team through a combination of hands-on work ethic, effective delegation, and open communication.
Foster a collaborative partnership with the General Manager, leveraging their customer expertise while actively contributing to a seamless operational flow.
Direct team responsibilities, assign authority, oversee scheduling and utilization
Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude, even under the pressure of time-sensitive events.
Technology Adoption
Become proficient in using our contract management and employee scheduling/communication software, leveraging these tools to streamline operations and improve team communication.

Additional responsibilities as assigned and as the right candidate grows.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience, demonstrating success in people management, team building, and process improvement.
A track record of hiring, training, and motivating a diverse frontline workforce in physically demanding circumstances.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration.
Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new systems quickly.
Preferred
Experience in the event rental, hospitality, or a related service industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a similar field.
