We are currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Director, Educational Strategy to be responsible for securing commercial funding for the development of CME accredited activities, particularly in the areas of ophthalmology, dermatology, and neurology and open to other categories.


A critical function of the Director, Educational Strategy is to know the therapeutic landscape in and identify potential pharma and device funders as assigned to this individual. This professional will be able to collaborate with our strong scientific staff and medical writers to develop strategic proposals and solutions to address the identified knowledge and practice gaps that can be addressed with continuing medical education. The Director, Educational Strategy, will be a self-motivated individual that is passionate about their work and thrives in a team environment.

What a day in the life of a Director, Educational Strategy looks like:


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Growing existing supporter relationships and handling rapidly growing business opportunities by interpreting market dynamics, scientific information, clinical and preclinical data.
  • Interpreting and acting on business metrics and financial information.
  • Helping grantors achieve their educational goal by preparing annual strategic and tactical plans for each supporter, and individual curriculum-based grants throughout the year.
  • Using scientific understanding of therapeutic space to Identify new strategic funding opportunities in assigned therapeutic areas and/or accounts.
  • Developing a business plan that outlines key goals, objectives and priorities for these opportunities.
  • Accepting accountability for securing funding from commercial funders.
  • Working closely with grant administration and scientific affairs to develop proposals and grant submissions.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders on the development teams across scientific affairs, project management, and production categories.
  • Reviewing and present metrics and outcomes on programs to commercial funders
  • Reviewing content for needs assessments, learning objectives, and agendas used in CME grant proposals.
  • Attending internal meetings as required.



What we expect from qualified candidates:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent, scientific concentration preferred
  • Minimum of two (2)-years of experience in a CME business or on the pharma/industry side of the business
  • Possess a keen eye for detail encompassing scientific content and editorial standards
  • Possess exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Be flexible and independent while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate effectively with staff, subject matter experts, supporters and society partners
  • Be able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
