Massage Envy is looking to hire a critical member of the Franchise Development team to lead the national development, refreshes, and remodels of Massage Envy franchised locations. The role provides leadership in Franchise Support Center’s (FSC’s) support of franchisees through all phases of development, including due diligence, design, pre-construction, and construction of all new and remodeled clinics, and compliance to current brand standards.
Essential Functions
Responsible for leading a design and construction team that will deliver support for new locations, relocations / expansions, and refreshes
Responsible for detailed tracking and reporting for all new and refresh projects through the entire development cycle
Collects and maintains system wide data, including existing clinic conditions and refresh status, historical cost data for reporting and benchmarking, etc.
Responsible for the project management of FSC’s support of franchisees with respect to material specifications associated with the construction of new clinics and the remodeling (Refresh) of existing clinics
Recommends and maintains a network of highly effective and competitive general contractors, architects, engineers, and FF&E vendors
Continually works to lower costs with existing vendors and exploration of new vendor opportunities to provide the most cost-effective resources
Tracks, reconciles, and projects rebate fee income from vendors to ensure compliance with vendor contracts and departmental revenue forecasting
Manage vendor and architect relationships
Supports franchisees in the management of construction / project managers with the goal of facilitating exceptional customer service to the franchisee network, while seeking to deliver high quality product at an affordable cost
Responsible for reviewing plans to ensure they meet brand standards
Partners effectively with internal and external teams to facilitate delivery of new/relocation and refreshed locations that meet customer and corporate expectations
Works with senior leadership team in the development of our design and prototype standards and maintains the plan sets, models, and cost estimating tools that support the preparation of annual construction budgets, key project initiatives, strategic rollouts, and project specifics budgets
Responsible for developing and maintaining tools and process documentation that will be used by the franchise network to aid in all franchise development activities
Establish and maintain construction document standards and protocols, including all AutoCAD templates, and filing procedures
Education, Experience, And Skills Required
Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in Design and Construction industry with specific experience in project planning and design and/or construction management
Franchise experience and multi-unit leadership preferred
Experience in leading, managing, and coordinating design
Proven ability with vendor negotiations
Experience with managing revenue streams
Strong leadership, financial management, and communication skills
Proven ability to understand the business goals of stakeholders and implement a partnering relationship that will enable mutual success and trust.
Strong analytical and communications skills
Proven ability to lead and coordinate resources and critique design to achieve complete technically acceptable design within project scope, schedule, and cost.
Must have proven leadership and project management experience
Must have experience with short construction cycles and multiple projects running concurrently
Required to travel for business needs
