DIRECTOR, CORPORATE OPERATIONS – PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & OPTIMIZATION LEADER

Summary

We are seeking a seasoned process optimization professional with significant experience in leading enterprise evolution projects and process improvement initiatives. This leadership role will partner with business units from across Ionis to lead and implement cross-functional enterprise transformation and improvement projects. This role will work with the business units and senior leadership in developing process and enterprise improvement project strategies, as well as detailed project plans. Then, lead or oversee the execution of those plans to ensure the timely delivery and deployment of key corporate projects and process improvement initiatives. This role will help translate insights into action and deliver strategic improvements that will help Ionis become a leading fully integrated biotechnology company.

Responsbilities

  • Leadership role in the ongoing Ionis growth and evolution program.
  • Lead and oversee the management of enterprise evolution projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization in the identification of key improvement projects and initiatives, development of project strategy, goals, and priorities.
  • Help solve operational issues and provide strategic advice to cross-functional business units on industry best practices, changing corporate priorities, policies, and business regulations.
  • Introduce best practices and better ways of managing work and creating processes that support advancing our strategic priorities.
  • Participate in organizational planning, prioritization, and optimization projects and processes.
  • Build internal networks to increase communication, knowledge sharing, and engagement to enhance and improve our business processes.
  • Ensure all enterprise evolution projects, process improvement initiatives, and activities are on budget and on time/track.
  • Work with EVP of Corporate & Development Operations to set strategic vision and goals to ensure alignment and delivery against Ionis’ corporate objectives and priorities.
  • Establish enterprise project leadership and management function including designing operating model, processes, tools, and workflows. Provide leadership and guidance for project presentations, talking points, internal communications, change management, and performance dashboards.

Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience
  • Consulting experience focused on operations management or strategic advisory services
  • At least 8 years in a management and supervisory role
  • Life Sciences industry experience
  • Proven success in large cross-function program/project leadership
  • Experience in general management and operations management
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives, with budget responsibilities
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate complex projects and teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders

The pay scale for this position is $135,000 to $200,000
