Job Overview

The Communication and Food Innovation Director, Burger King LAC, will be a key player in the regional strategic agenda, defining the roadmap for future innovation with all stakeholders, partners, and teams from various functions, as well as leading capability deployment and best practices rollouts across the LAC markets. In addition, you will be leading all the brand and communication efforts for Latin America. Moreover, you will lead a multifunctional team and report directly to the Head of Marketing for Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes Latin America.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead brand positioning and visual identity fronts across all LAC markets, including project management of regional and global brand initiatives, developing and executing creative communication frameworks, brand localization projects, and media & channel strategies.
  • Leads the development of new products and product-related marketing opportunities, from concept to commercialization for the Burger King brand across LAC, and supports the creation of the innovation roadmap.
  • Leads and manages the development and launch of strategic products and platforms. Serve as project representative to Burger King leadership team, suppliers, agencies, and franchisees.
  • Lead research and insights related to brand marketing goals, such as U&A studies, product testing, claims to test, and qualitative research, and apply consumer insights to understand marketplace dynamics and develop a compelling brand and category direction & positioning.
  • Manage regional marketing calendar execution and communication workstreams, including product and marketing collateral approval and media allocation with the support of external agencies.
  • Lead cross-functional projects with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment and deliver new and improved solutions.
  • Builds strong relationships within a matrix structure to ensure the achievement of business objectives and marketing messaging consistent with brand guardrails.
  • Train and immerse local franchisees and agencies in brand positioning and marketing standards within LAC for the Burger King brand.

Your Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience supporting the development of new or existing products and brand strategies from conception to implementation and communication.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, is a must. Knowledge of Portuguese will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to unearth consumer insights through guest research and to develop product stories and positioning
  • Strong data analytics and strong problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in QSR or FMCG business will be considered an asset.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through new product development projects is an asset.
  • Additional agency and/or sales experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to build relationships with global partners and franchisees and well-developed communication skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders in the organization and across different cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.

Localization & Travel

This position may be based in Miami, USA, or Sao Paulo, Brazil, and requires frequent travel within the Americas
