Director, Brand Lead

ONO PHARMA USA Cambridge, MA

This person drives OPUS’ marketing and brand strategy and key tactical execution.

  • Develops and manages brand and launch plans for the brand in the US market.
  • Collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to develop and successfully execute brand strategy.
  • Develops and implements OPUS brand guidelines and strategy.

Planning and Execution

  • Drives US marketing strategy, including the creation of brand strategy plans, launch plans, competitive readiness plans, and key sales messages.
  • Drives and executes a robust commercial HCP and consumer strategy for the brand and ensures alignment across all key cross functional stakeholders, including medical, market research and sales.

Financial Outcome

  • Manages the brand performance and diagnoses as needed, leading partnership efforts with Global leaders to define life-cycle priorities, informing labeling recommendations, and sharing insights across markets.
  • Manages budget for the brand and manages the engagement with external partners/agencies.

Operation and Improvement

  • Works effectively within the established corporate and industry compliance guidelines and supports improvement of the processes.

Innovation

  • Works across Ono to develop an omni-channel engagement strategy and customer engagement model including creative and innovative digital tactics.

Talent Development and Organization Growth

  • Interfaces with high performing field teams including sales, nurse educators, and regional marketing teams.
  • Hires and retains talent and work collaboratively, develop and mentor high performing teams… interfaces is too unaccountable

External/Internal Relationship

  • Partners with Global Marketing to develop compelling brand positioning and messaging.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Business Operations, Market Access and Commercial Leadership to achieve brand goals

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably in business or life science.

Experience

  • US marketing experience and launch experience in the US. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
  • Oncology brand experience is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in brand management, and/or strategic marketing, commercial development in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries.
  • MBA or Graduate degree in Life Science preferred.
  • Hematology experience is strongly desired, including in-line and pipeline products.

Skills and Abilities

  • Highly proficient in key software like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Veeva CRM etc.

  • Analytical capability.

Language/Interpersonal Skills

  • Language skills in both English for frequent Ability to participate in and facilitate group.
  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.

Other

  • May be required to work beyond normal business hours including evening and/or weekend (e.g., teleconference with counterparts of Japan parent company) as business needs dictate.

Physical Demands

  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing, walking, grasping, and lifting/moving up to 15 pounds (e.g., in order to shred documents, to maintain a neat and organized work environment, and to lift paper supplies, and large boxes and files).
  • The ability to read printed materials and written information on a computer screen is required.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Business Travel

This role requires the candidate to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
