Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.

Min = $99,834.476

Mid = $129,784.819

Summary

The Director of Ambulatory Operations assumes administrative responsibility for the management of assigned ambulatory/outpatient practices to include multiple locations and outreach clinics. The incumbent is primarily accountable for the planning, implementation and operation of the department in order to meet the needs of the organization. Participates in strategic planning as it relates to the ambulatory network, the hospital as a whole, and the health service, recommends space and resource allocation needed by the department/service to support the mission, vision and strategic objectives of YRMC. The Director will provide leadership and expertise in the management of the department and establish objectives and current standards of ambulatory practice; defines, interprets, and implements the philosophy and objectives for YRMC’s ambulatory operations. Responsible for clinical excellence, accountable for strategic business planning, program development and administration, fiscal accountability, human resource management, quality management, and effective dyad partnership with physician leaders; facilitates and manages operational change while maintaining optimal patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. The Director ensures compliance with the standards set forth by regulatory agencies (i.e., CMS, AZHHA, CDC, etc.,) including all documentation requirements. Continually evaluates with others, core processes to improve clinical operations, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, enhance service, and improve quality and patient safety performance. Maintain outpatient practice licensure and supports the broader needs of the organization. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after disasters or unplanned code triage events.

Responsibilities

Planning/Vision Competency: a) Provides vision, forward thinking and strategic planning in a proactive manner while being open-minded and creative in establishing a strategic direction. b) Develops through an integration of ideas of those involved, an organized strategy to achieve both short and long term objectives for the department. Effectively communicates strategy to obtain commitment by the responsible individuals. Accountability: Leads the strategic planning process for the respective department. As plans are developed, these plans and objectives are integrated within the plans of the medical center. The incumbent works with others in leadership as well as physicians to identify and evaluate programs and emerging technologies. Responsible for planning, evaluating, developing, and implementing new hospital services and programs. Analyzes existing services, community needs, and healthcare trends in order to develop and recommend short- and long-range goals and plans for the hospital. Assists hospital departments with feasibility studies and planning efforts. Collaborates with physicians to develop partnerships and alliances to meet the community healthcare needs. Works collaboratively with Administrative Director and key leadership to assess market opportunities and their impact on various medical center programs, planning activities, and market share Formulates and manages balanced scorecard with its respective goals and metrics

Identifies program or service growth opportunities and methodologies to enhance revenues. Able to manage to a volume-adjusted budget. Determine new opportunities by analyzing business needs Develops and manages large-scale practice integration efforts Develop business plans for new services and provides scorecard reports comparing actual performance compared to assumptions

Supports collaboration between patients, families, health care practitioners, and health care leaders in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation; in facility design; professional education, and delivery of care. Educates physicians on new services available at the hospital or important changes and also capture opportunities for YRMC to improve efficiencies for referring physicians Monitors, track and reports referral patterns and proactively work to increase referral in-capture. Identifies referring provider and referral process issues and follows appropriate resolution process, working closely with designated leadership to ensure resolution occurs in a timely manner. Accountable for communication of issues and resolutions to appropriate parties, including VP Medical Affairs/CMO, Medical Director and other physicians. Partners with Physician Recruitment in provider recruitment and onboarding
