Success in the role of Directional Drilling Operator involves skillfully using specialized equipment to dig underground tunnels for installing pipelines or cables while keeping surface disturbances to a minimum. By effectively steering the drill in different directions, you guarantee accurate placement of vital infrastructure like gas pipelines or internet cables.

Responsibilities for the Directional Drilling Operator:
Operate drilling equipment and various other construction equipment
Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities
Know utility depths and placement
Possess general knowledge of construction practices and be familiar with equipment
Respect the importance of ensuring company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.) are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured safely
Work as a team and communicate with others
Qualifications for the Directional Drilling Operator:
1+ years experience operating a directional drill
1+ years experience as a locator
Class A CDL license required
Ability to listen to and implement directions
Candidates must pass pre-employment testing (MVR, drug screen, and background check)
Must have basic computer skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to climb up and down ladders, scaffoldings, and lifts
Ability to work in all weather conditions; including extreme temperatures
At times you may be required to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels, closets, and crawl spaces
Must be able to lift to 80 lbs. from the floor and above the head
Have knowledge and ability to identify and use basic hand tools
