Job Description

The D2C Business Manager is the leader of the company’s direct-to-consumer sales team and is responsible for driving growth on the company’s websites in cooperation with the marketing team and various agencies, partners, and consultants as needed.  In addition to a sales quota and being charged with top-line growth for ISOtunes.com and ISOtunes.ca, the D2C Business Manager is also responsible for the bottom-line profitability of their business unit. This role has the potential to expand scope to include oversight of Ecommerce Marketplaces (i.e. Amazon, Walmart, Ebay) depending on the experience level of the candidate.


Job Functions

The D2C Business Manager is expected to manage and direct all aspects of the D2C business, including:


  • Strategic planning for the business unit, including annual and quarterly budgeting and sales/expense forecasting
  • Building and overseeing the execution of a comprehensive, omni-channel Ecommerce growth strategy 
  • Managing and mentoring a team of young direct reports to achieve the team’s growth objectives
  • Overseeing continuous optimization of the D2C business and supporting channels to maximize growth and ROI
  • Overseeing the execution of all promotional campaigns and new product launches on the websites, in collaboration with the marketing department
  • Monitoring performance analytics including website traffic, conversions, and product performance
  • Oversight of new customer acquisition and customer retention strategies and performance
  • Oversight of online brand visibility and product presentation in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities to stay ahead in the competitive e-commerce landscape
  • Close collaboration with the Marketing team, agencies, and freelancers to obtain and deploy effective creative assets (Photo, Video, Digital Design Assets, etc.) to meet objectives
  • Fostering a collaborative and results-driven team culture, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Effective utilization of analytics tools and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the e-commerce strategy and tactics
  • Regular reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and actionable insights to improve overall performance
  • Management of an expense budget used to accomplish the team’s objectives
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including the Leadership Team, Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Customer Service to ensure seamless integration of e-commerce initiatives with overall business operations
  • Ensuring a positive and seamless online shopping experience for customers, from website navigation to post-purchase support


Direct Reports Include:

  • Marketing Campaign Coordinator: Responsible for planning and managing D2C campaigns, plus Email & SMS channels
  • D2C Marketing Coordinator: Responsible for Google and Meta Ads, SEO, Affiliates and Analytics
  • Ecommerce Specialist: Responsible for web content, web tools, page building, CRO, and UX


Ideal Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years experience in managing e-commerce operations in a D2C business (B2B experience is a plus)
  • Experience with Ecommerce sales tactics including promotions, bundling, up-selling, and cross-selling
  • Strong understanding of the metrics that are critical to driving Ecommerce growth (Traffic, CRO, AOV, etc)
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in using customer data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively to deliver on commitments
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Team player that works well independently


Essential Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in managing employees, agencies, and freelance partners including but not limited to: Google Ads Manager, Meta Ads Manager, Amazon Ads Manager, Programmatic and Connected TV Ad Platforms
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of products (Gmail, Drive, Slides, Sheets, Forms, etc)
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics (preferably including experience with GA4 or a recommended alternative)
  • Familiarity with Shopify
