Starting Salary Range: *$20.00-$24.00/hr

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to support the Adult Day Program. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role will support Laradon’s mission by supervising and facilitating the development and training of individuals with developmental disabilities in habilitative activities. Increase participants’ functional skills in order to maximize their full potential.
No day is ever alike but you can generally look forward to the following responsibilities:
Assist program manager in designing individual programming
Implement, track and record adaptive and/or behavioral Individual Service and Support Plans (ISSPs)
Complete and maintain paperwork per Laradon’s policy and procedures.
Prevention and management of crisis to provide a safe environment
Provide supervision and actively engage participants while providing positive reinforcement
Provide training in self-care, physical and emotional maturation, socialization, communication, leisure, and other Activities of Daily Living as indicated in the Service Plan
Develop and implement habilitative activities per ISSPs
Develop, schedule and facilitate opportunities in the community
Build natural supports and community connections
Maintain effective communication
Administer medications per individual’s order and document according to regulations
Implement protocols
Drive participants as necessary for program needs
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
As Laradon is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative, team environment, employee must be physically present at the residential setting to perform the different job functions required in that setting in addition to community locations when needed

High School diploma or GED
Must be 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Two years of direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays
