Blue Owl is seeking a Vice President to join its Institutional Business Development team. This individual will focus on project management and review of the IBD due diligence and RFP process. The role involves working with the diligence team to proactively maintain Blue Owl Operational and Investment related content used in client diligence. This includes initial creation of diligence materials prior to fund launch, project managing all diligence deliverables during fundraising (RFPs, DDQs, etc.). The ideal candidate is collaborative and detail-oriented with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Over time, the position is expected to develop significant expertise in the firm’s private markets investment platform and funds. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to multiple facets of Blue Owl’s business and grow alongside an innovative, rapidly expanding platform.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow Blue Owl’s centralized operational and investment due diligence function across Credit, GP Strategic Capital, Real Estate businesses
  • Directly impact the fundraising efforts and ongoing client service through the investment and operational due diligence responses
  • Managing required due diligence deliverables necessary to advance clients during fundraising, including DDQs, RFPs, RFIs, quantitative datasets, IDD / ODD presentations, etc.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to respond to investor diligence requests, especially the IBD team, corporate solutions team and investment professionals
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on all due diligence activities
  • Initial creation of standard due diligence materials and setup of datarooms prior to fund launch
  • Proactively meet with subject matter experts across the firm to keep abreast of updates and new developments
  • Having a thorough understanding of the firm's funds and investment strategies, as well its history and operations to facilitate the accurate and consistent creation of diligence content
  • Utilize the firm’s suite of tools and resources to respond to client requests, including the RFP content database (Loopio), datarooms, standard quantitative datasets, internal data, performance metrics, etc.
  • Demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work directly with sales professionals, senior investment professionals and other team members under tight deadlines and across regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial services required (leveraged finance, private equity, real estate, alternative asset management, investment banking and/or capital markets experience strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional work ethic, positive attitude and collaborative team-oriented disposition
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to grasp and distill complex concepts
  • Self-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required
  • Excellent attention to detail with high standard for precision
  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented problem-solver
  • High degree of discretion with the ability to handle proprietary and/or sensitive information regularly and with integrity
  • Extremely professional with the ability to interact with senior leaders on a regular basis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $150,000 to $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
