We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in heavy truck repair and maintenance, with a strong emphasis on engine rebuilds and a comprehensive understanding of various mechanical systems. As a Heavy Truck Mechanic, you will primarily work in our shop, with occasional service calls in the field.


Location: Shop, 9832 Oak Grove Road Fort Worth, TX 76140

Schedule: 40 hour week, additional hours if needed

Employee type: Salary, Full-time


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and major repairs on heavy trucks, including but not limited to engine rebuilds, preventive maintenance services, clutch replacements, transmission swaps, brake repairs, and other mechanical tasks.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of PTO (Power Take-Off) and hydraulic systems, ensuring all repairs and maintenance are performed to the highest standard.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with industry standards and company policies. Ensure all tools and equipment are used correctly and safely.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to prioritize job tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as Insite, Cat ET, Wabco, etc., to identify and address mechanical issues promptly.
  • Manage small parts inventory to ensure availability of necessary components for repairs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and dispatch to schedule repairs and minimize downtime for our fleet.
  • Occasionally perform service calls in the field, providing emergency repair services as needed. Ensure all field repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy truck repair.
  • Proficiency in engine rebuilds with at least 2 years of hands-on experience.
  • Possession of own hand tools is required. Ensure tools are well-maintained and available for use at all times.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with supervisors, dispatch, and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve repair goals efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
  • Lift objects up to 50 pounds and utilize equipment for heavier items.
