Position Title: DevSecOps Team Leader

Location: Carrollton, TX (100% onsite)

Duration: Full Time, Direct Hire

We are seeking a passionate, results-oriented, and innovative DevSecOps Team Leader to drive the design, build and support of our cloud-native and on-prem enterprise software solutions.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and working as a senior member of the technology team, you will be responsible for delivering DevSecOps services which accelerate the delivery of both revenue-generating and internal applications.

The DevSecOps team supports software development while applying strategic and approved practices to streamline and fully automate the release management pipeline. You will be responsible for developing and supporting innovative solutions that leverage the latest technologies in our modern development stack and the cloud and building a team of top-notch DevSecOps Engineers to create our next generation platforms.

DevSecOps manages the application lifecycle management (ALM) tools that underpin all DevSecOps services and enable an efficient hybrid business/IT software delivery model. In your role as the VP of DevSecOps, you will be responsible for the selection and implementation of tools and processes which enable rapid development and deployment of software. Your mission is to embrace continuous integration/deployment in a delivery pipeline that will perform automated quality checks, deploy cloud infrastructure and applications quickly, and provide operational metrics that can be consumed by development teams.

This role will have a blend of development and operational experience that provides a good understanding of the developers you are working with, while also balancing customer satisfaction and maintaining critical systems uptime. This is a fast-paced environment with stretch deliverables. To be successful you must be able to manage multiple competing priorities, have a resilient ability to engage with business leadership with strong opinions, and leadership skills to achieve the most from your team.

What You Will Do

  • Drive DevSecOps maturation process and tools.
  • Build and lead a team of DevSecOps Engineers responsible for delivering and maintaining applications.
  • Be a mentor to the DevSecOps team with the ability to encourage, develop and grow the staff.
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team and IT leadership to ensure your team is appropriately staffed.
  • Establish an automated DevSecOps release management pipeline which delivers tooling for next generation application development efforts and on-going production operations.
  • Ensure development teams are provided a full set of DevSecOps ALM tools by leading the establishment of the right tooling and processes that will result in a fully automated release management pipeline to include: the Automated build process, environment setups, testing scripts, deployments, and production operational metrics/debugging information (to target developers).
  • Partner with R&D and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions and custom modules. Troubleshoot automation issues and find practical solutions that move projects forward in a timely manner.
  • Drive automation and tooling for DevSecOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights, and advice and take best of class ideas through implementation.
  • Plan, organize, and control multiple responsibilities to achieve project objectives; technically guide projects through to completion. Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high quality.
  • Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to ALM processes and tools. Develop and own KPIs to ensure performance is measured against expected business outcomes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in DevSecOps and Agile SDLC environments. Drive the maturation of our SDLC process execution through strong expertise in process, tools, and techniques.
  • Demonstrate the understanding and importance of building a collaborative, curious and high performing team.
  • Networking implementation and leadership experience with a focus on Public Cloud Networking including direct connects and hybrid cloud networking.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and talent development, effective use of lead-edge technologies in support of desired business outcomes.
  • Proven experience delivering and maintaining high-availability and disaster-tolerant environments.
  • Set standards of operation in the DevSecOps team to ensure predictability and optimization.
  • Implement an innovative development framework to drive industry-leading product velocity and quality metrics, as well as a rapid iterative improvement based on early feedback and evolving requirements. Foster and develop an agile high-velocity development environment to enable effective business development.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to stakeholders the status of issues and deliverables.
  • Ability to partner with our internal support teams to drive resolution.
  • Manage business relationships and expectations by improving communication process to keep others up to date on results.
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating improvements in process, and systems; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues and holding self and team accountable for results.
  • Strong Vendor management skills.
  • Establish and continuously review key metrics and KPIs, analysis and trends to continuously improve business performance.

What you need:

  • Must have an Undergraduate degree in Information Technologies (IT) discipline.
  • Experience with end-to-end development of large-scale, full-stack solutions.
  • Strong experience with Cloud solutions like Azure and OCI.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience with SAST and DAST tools.
  • Strong experience with database technologies such as MongoDB and Oracle.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
