Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to support the implementation of strategies that advance our mission. This role is integral in ensuring revenue goals are met across various fundraising areas. The Development Manager works directly with the leadership team and reports to the Director of Development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign and Event Implementation: Support or lead the implementation of campaigns and events in collaboration with the Director of Development.
  • Office Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of the Development office.
  • Foundation and Grants Management: Serve as the primary contact for a portfolio of foundations and oversee grants management.
  • Gift Campaigns: Oversee both small and large gift campaigns.
  • Donor Stewardship: Manage the stewardship of all donor accounts within the Tessitura database.
  • Prospect Research: Conduct prospect research and analysis to identify new major donors and participate in strategy sessions for cultivating gifts.
  • Special Project Campaigns: Participate in the planning and execution of multi-year special project campaigns including capital, legacy, and endowment.

  • Communication Skills: Must be a skilled communicator with the ability to convey information verbally, confidently, and clearly, as well as in writing.
  • Audience Engagement: Effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, staff, donors, and potential funding partners.
  • Passion and Familiarity: A familiarity and passion for the performing arts.
  • Interaction with Donors: Ability to interact well with major gift donors and prospects.
  • CRM Database Experience: Experience with CRM databases, fundraising software.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work several nights and weekends as needed.
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Strong time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Fundraising Experience: Minimum of three years of fundraising experience.
