Eileen & Callie’s Place is a 501(c)3 organization established to support young women aged out and aging out of the foster care system. Our mission is to empower, educate, and coach these young women as they transition into adulthood to live independent, successful, productive lives. Our mentoring program began in 2015. Eileen & Callie’s Place is growing, and our fundraising work is increasing to match our strategic vision. The Development Manager role is a new position focused on growing the fundraising program and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will play a critical role building community and a sustainable foundation of support for the organization. The Development Manager will have access to an Executive Coach for support and planning purposes. This dynamic position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the fundraising department including developing annual fund activities, managing and growing the major donor portfolio, marketing and communications, directing fundraising events, including raising corporate sponsorship dollars, supporting the grants program through assisting the grants contractors and the Executive Director, and leading the donor relations and development operations work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regular duties include the following on an ongoing basis. Other projects may be assigned as needed.

• Fund Raising - Grows individual donor base by building and strengthening relationships with individual donors and other key stakeholders. Researches and develops cultivation strategies. Develops and grows individual donor base, cultivates major gifts, and manages in-kind donations. Organizes individual donor campaigns (e.g., major donors, direct mail, etc.). Organizes solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

• Major Gift & Individual Donors - Produce major donor, board and special category solicitations/support materials with the intent to retain or upgrade gifts when possible. Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgment, and scheduling in-person visits. Individual giving is a primary focus of ECP's development plan and will be one of the primary efforts of the Development Manager.

• Annual Campaign - Manages and executes individual donor campaigns (e.g., direct mail, online giving days, workplace giving, etc.). Supports Executive Director, board and other constituents to cultivate and steward individual donors. Coordinates donor relationship management, including stewardship and thank you notes. Participates in managing donor and volunteer relationships.

• Events - Plans and manages all aspects of fundraising events, providing leadership to staff, board and other volunteers. Secures marketing and partnership opportunities, as well as corporate sponsorships. Together with the Executive Director, supports the Board of Directors to execute board fundraising plan, including participation in events. Utilizes volunteers in fundraising, as well as engaging program volunteers as donors to grow events and individual giving.

• Corporations - Solicits corporate sponsorships and other corporate donations and pursues donations through corporate and employee matching programs.

• Marketing & Public Relations - Pursues public speaking opportunities for Executive Director and ECP constituents to recruit new donors and volunteers to ECP. Manages general content for website, blog, and social media as well as sending out newsletters and e-updates to constituents. Coordinates all marketing and communications, including the creation of various materials such as the annual report, newsletters, e-updates, general presentations, brochures, and collateral materials.

• Grants - ECP has contracted grant writing, research and grants management for all private and public grants, which will be supervised by the Executive Director. The Development Manager will provide support as needed, including coordinating information requests, and completing all reports.

• Donor Relations and Mailings - Prepares all mailings to donors and volunteers, segmenting the database so donors receive tailored communications with appropriate notes from staff and board members. Coordinates end-of-year thank you cards from staff to key stakeholders.

• Database and Records Management - Maintains paper and electronic records of cash and in-kind contributions. Maintains security, accuracy and quality controls of database. Generates cash donation and in-kind acknowledgement letters in a timely manner. Generates mailing lists, queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed. Manage any related vendors.


Desired Qualifications

• 4+ years of fundraising and development experience, including demonstrated success in managing annual campaigns, fundraising events, donor relationships, and corporate sponsorships

• Working knowledge of fundraising best practice

• Strong people skills, excellent communicator with a high EQ

• Problem solver and system builder with a focus on building processes that can scale with the organization • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines, manage timelines and deliverables

• Experience managing a CRM or donor management system. ECP uses Bloomerang; Bloomerang, Salesforce, or Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.

• Interest in and focus on fundraising strategy and planning, and developing and managing a departmental revenue and expense budget

• 3 professional fundraising references required, including at least 1 previous supervisor
