Purpose:

The Associate Developer will provide coordination and development support services to the Development Team. Act as project liaison between departments and provide direct support for development activity related to commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic solar and battery storage projects.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

Success in this role involves:

  • Manage project budgets, task orders and Master Service Agreements with Vendors.
  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Create and coordinate land use permit deliverables, environmental reports and other documents.
  • Power Purchase Agreement and Interconnection Agreement administration.
  • Manage all external zoning related contractors/legal counsel/consultants and internal engineering/finance/other support related to the zoning process including but not limited to civil engineers, law firms, landscape architects, etc.
  • Navigate local GIS, locate relevant ordinances, and contact local jurisdictions to determine zoning and process.
  • Prepare and submit site plan approval, special use permit, variance, subdivision and recombination applications.
  • Manage development of site plans to ensure projects comply with all relevant ordinances
  • Prepare for hearings and meetings by researching local zoning ordinances, future land use plans, and comprehensive land use plans, and by managing development of appropriate materials in collaboration with internal and external team members.
  • Occasional travel to and attendance at zoning hearings and to meet on project sites may be required.
  • Departmental, project level and administrative support for the Development Team
  • Coordinate all landowner payments and tax payments.
  • Assist with land owner relationships.
  • Assist Development Manager on project acquisitions and divestments.
  • Maintain project acquisition and divestment data rooms including tracking and indexing of documents.
  • Regularly track and update zoning management activities on shared internal database to keep internal colleagues aware of on-going communications, activities, and developments.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

The ideal candidate demonstrates:

  • 2-3 years of work experience
  • Experience preparing and managing of contracts, schedules, budgets.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of CEQA, NEPA, or any other state environmental Processes.
  • Familiarity with land use permits and preparation applications and processes from County, City, State, and Federal Government.
  • Have proficiency with MS Project
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Solar company experience preferred, but not required
  • Land Development experience preferred
  • Working experience with Sage Project Center and or with Sage 300 Accounting Software a plus.
  • Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good organizational and research skills, attention to detail

  • Total compensation package dependent upon a number of factors, including candidate’s professional experience, candidate’s skills, position’s seniority level, department’s hiring budget, and position’s location.
  • The base salary range for this role is $100k-$140k
  • 15% Bonus potential based on individual and company performance.
