DETECTIVE (HUMAN RESOURCES INVESTIGATOR)

The Detective (Human Resources Investigator) position is located in the OPSO Office of Human
Resources Human Resources Department, and reports to the Director of Human Resources. The incumbent
is responsible for performing a variety of tasks and functions including by not limited to
Conducting Background Investigations, Performing Criminal and Civil Background Checks, Verification
of Qualifying Credentials, Administering Fingerprinting Analysis, Verification and Interview of
Applicant References, Administering Certified Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) Examinations, Reviewing
and Analyzing Applicant Calls to OPSO Residents (Inmates), Conducting Employee Complaint Intake,
Conducting Investigations and performing other task as assigned. This position is non-exempt.
SALARY
The salary for the Human Resources Investigator ranges from $45,000 to $55,000. The salary for a
selected applicant will be aligned accordingly and commensurate with an applicant’s knowledge,
skills, experience, certifications, and education requirements of the subject position.

- Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement to include Post Level 2 Certification for any incumbent
- Related Training, Certifications, or Related Degree (Preferred)
- Three to five years of experience in investigations or related field
- Knowledge of investigation guidelines and common practices

- Courteously handle requests from; employees and others in often irate, stressful or
