Desktop Manager – Financial Services – Boston, MA

Daley And Associates is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Manager to join a prestigious client in the financial services space. This manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of desktop support, ensuring the smooth operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals across our organization. This person will have the opportunity to lead a team of technical experts, provide guidance and support, and implement efficient IT solutions to enhance productivity and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of desktop support technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement desktop support policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective handling of user queries and technical issues
  • Coordinate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop support incidents and problems
  • Ensure the timely resolution of desktop support requests via phone, email, or in-person, while maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Oversee the planning, procurement, installation, and maintenance of desktop hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in desktop support management, evaluating and recommending new solutions as appropriate
  • Conduct regular training sessions for end-users to enhance their understanding of desktop technologies and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Manager or similar role, overseeing desktop support operations in a large organization
  • Previous experience within the financial services preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and desktop applications
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and other enterprise-level software
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a customer-centric approach
  • Experience in managing vendors and third-party service providers to deliver quality desktop support services
