Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Derivatives Trader to join our trading desk. The Derivatives Trader will be responsible for executing trades in derivatives markets, managing risk exposures, and optimizing trading strategies to achieve profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, market knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
Roles And Responsibilities
Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis of derivatives markets, including options, futures, swaps, and other financial instruments, to identify trading opportunities and market trends.
Trade Execution: Execute trades in derivatives markets, including order placement, trade allocation, and monitoring trade execution to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Risk Management: Assess and manage risk exposures associated with derivatives positions, including delta, gamma, vega, and other risk metrics, and implement hedging strategies to mitigate risks.
Trading Strategies: Develop and implement quantitative and algorithmic trading strategies for derivatives, leveraging market data, statistical models, and trading algorithms.
Trade Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor trading positions and performance metrics, conduct post-trade analysis, and evaluate trading strategies to optimize profitability and performance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and internal trading policies and procedures.
Collaboration: Collaborate with research analysts, quantitative analysts, and other traders to develop trading ideas, share market insights, and enhance trading strategies.
Technology Integration: Utilize trading platforms, data analytics tools, and risk management systems effectively to support trading activities and decision-making.
Documentation: Maintain accurate trade records, documentation, and reporting for compliance, audit, and performance analysis purposes.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on market developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes to adapt trading strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree or CFA/FRM certification preferred).
Proven experience as a Derivatives Trader or in a similar role within the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of derivatives markets, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
Proficiency in trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters), algorithmic trading tools, and quantitative analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret market data and financial models.
Decision-making ability under pressure, with a strategic mindset and ability to execute trading decisions swiftly and accurately.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
