Duties In support of the Commanding General, Fires Center of Excellence, the Deputy to the Commanding General (DtCG) has full responsibility to direct the actions of the Center's personnel, technical and managerial efforts in accomplishment of its Force Modernization & Branch proponency in the Fires Warfighting Function and its associated Air Defense and Field Artillery elements. Serves as the CG's principal advisor and the center's senior expert in Force Management, Institutional Training, Resource Management, Civilian Personnel Management, Requirements Determination in support of the 4 Army Commands

  • TRADOC, AFC, FORSCOM and AMC as well the Combined Arms Command and Installation Management Command. Oversees the implementation of an annual budget of $139M. Directs the efforts of 3,300+ military and civilian employees to include 2 Brigadier Generals, 10 Colonels and 4 GS-15s. Additionally provides oversight and influence on the actions of 10,100+ military and civilian employees to include 4 Brigadier Generals, 13 Colonels and 8 GS-15s representing enterprise partners on Fort Sill. Prioritizes/influences $60 billion in the Fires Warfighting portfolio for modernization across the POM. Responsible for the manning, resourcing, and mission execution of 3 TRADOC brigades - the Field Artillery School Brigade, the Air Defense Artillery School Brigade and the Basic Combat Training Brigade. Responsible for overseeing an institutional training mission of 42,000+ Soldiers per year. Additionally responsible for support of 2 FORSCOM Brigades as well as the Fort Sill Garrison installation facility and infrastructure development and support plans.   • The incumbent is required to travel on both scheduled and unscheduled aircraft, and other modes as required, under conditions specified under the DoD Joint Travel Regulations.
  • The incumbent is expected to travel on short notice to attend high level meetings to obtain resolution of problems and gather information to assist in the decision-making process.

Total ECQ write-up should not exceed 10 pages using 12pt, Arial or Times New Roman with 1-inch margins. Please Note: Current career SES members, former career SES members with reinstatement eligibility, and SES Candidate Development Program (CDP) graduates, who have been certified by the OPM do not need to address ECQs. However, Current or Former SES members must provide an SF-50 showing their status or reinstatement eligibility and Candidates who have successfully graduated from an OPM approved Candidate Development Program must submit a copy of their ECQ certification.   • Building Coalitions: This core qualification involves the ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, State and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals. (2) MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION(S) (TQ): (MANDATORY SUBMISSION) A supplemental statement must be submitted separately addressing each TQ. Your TQ must provide specific examples that address relevant experience and accomplishments. Total TQ write-up should not exceed 2 pages per TQ using 12pt, Arial or Times New Roman with 1-inch margins. Applicants must reflect superior technical qualifications demonstrated through leadership and management in the following: TQ 1
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the management of a large, complex, and diverse organization requiring executive level leadership skills. TQ 2
