Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Deputy Sheriff at the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs with locations statewide. As a Deputy Sheriff, your primary responsibilities are judicial security within the Rhode Island courts, nationwide fugitive operations, prisoner transport operations, special operations, and service of civil process. You will perform various law enforcement duties, including maintaining order, protecting individuals, executing warrants, transportation of inmates, serving legal documents, providing courtroom security and performing other duties as assigned.

Pension
As of January 1, 2025, all members of the Rhode Island Division of Sheriffs will be eligible for a law enforcement pension under the Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS).
