About The Role

The Deputy Director of Marketing for Clean Fuels and Infrastructure at CALSTART will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans to promote CALSTART’s initiatives in clean fuels and infrastructure.

This role requires a seasoned marketing professional with a deep understanding of clean energy solutions, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for sustainability. The Deputy Director will report to the Director of Marketing and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to advance CALSTART's mission.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Marketing Planning: Design and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance CALSTART’s visibility and impact in the clean fuels and infrastructure sectors.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent and compelling branding and messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including articles, whitepapers, case studies, press releases, and digital content.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage digital marketing initiatives, including website content, email campaigns, social media, and online advertising.
  • Event Planning: Organize and execute industry events, webinars, and trade shows to promote CALSTART’s initiatives and engage with stakeholders.
  • Partnership Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and analyze marketing campaign performance, providing regular reports and actionable insights.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring To The Table

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of marketing experience, preferably within the clean energy, transportation, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Skills: Proven strategic planning and project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
  • Innovative and strategic thinking.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the clean fuels and infrastructure landscape.
  • Passion: Strong commitment to sustainability and clean energy solutions

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a many time zones and languages
  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling and targeting
  • Mailchimp and/or Salesforce experience
  • The ability to make things happen quickly

$105,630 - $120,260 a year

CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $105,630 - $120,260. We determine pay based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
