Position Summary: The Dental Hygienist, under the direct supervision of a dentist will work to treat and set up equipment for patients with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. While providing instruction, guidance, and coaching overall methods to improve dental health and perform some basic office management tasks that can include scheduling appointments and billing.
Duties And Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride and sealants, and root planning
Complete a thorough assessment of the patient's teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, and document any abnormalities or suspected conditions
Customize care to meet patient's oral health
Educate patients on good oral hygiene techniques
Aid the dentist with procedures and emergencies as needed
Maintain patient confidentiality
Provide all care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards
Education/Training:
Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene
Registered Dental Hygienist licensure in state of Wisconsin
Current CPR certification (required)
1-2 years of experience working in a dental practice, preferred
Education/Training:
