Dental Hygienist is required to travel to locations including Mobile Program locations, schools, and clinic sites throughout Harris County. Duties shall include, but not be limited to:
Ø Perform preliminary oral health assessments to identify oral health conditions and problems.
Ø Conduct dental cleanings to remove calculus, stains, and plaque from teeth.
Ø Apply preventive treatments, such as fluoride and sealants, to protect patients' teeth.
Ø Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance on maintaining their oral health.
Ø Capture dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Ø Record and maintain patient treatment records, including charting and treatment planning.
Ø Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program with an associate's degree
Licenses/Certifications Required:
Valid dental hygiene license in the State of Texas
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration
BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Provider Certification
Valid Texas driver’s license
