A Day in the Life:

The Delivery Director will be a key player in our client engagement team, responsible for managing complex solution delivery and client satisfaction while ensuring the work is on strategy, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, having evolved from a developer or architect into delivery management, and will be skilled at driving scalable enterprise initiatives in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.

  • Solution Delivery: Lead the strategic planning and implementation of complex solutions for clients across various sectors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and ROI expectations. This includes overseeing multiple delivery teams across one or more accounts.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong business and technology relationships, taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to defining, delivering, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Technical Leadership: Propose innovative technology-driven solutions for enhancing market differentiation, efficiency, and user experiences.
  • Solution Architecture: Develop, present, and advocate detailed solution architectures, conduct architecture reviews/audits, and present ROI calculations.
  • Project Management: Manage the project lifecycle, from lead management and bid qualification to solution development and execution, taking accountability for financial, sourcing, development, and business aspects.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance, to drive estimates, delivery plans, and retrospectives while proactively managing engagement risks and identifying major issues.
  • Team Leadership: Manage delivery streams and lead the growth of a team of Delivery Managers, providing coaching, mentoring, and development support.
  • Client Education: Facilitate workshops, presentations, and discussions with client stakeholders to foster buy-in and understanding of proposed solutions. Industry Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends, advancements, and best practices to improve our solutions and continuously advise clients on innovative approaches.

What it Takes:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT services/consulting or solution delivery management, with at least 5 years focused on complex solutions.
  • Technical Background: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic solutions, preferably transitioning from a technical role (developer or architect).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of building strong client relationships.
  • Leadership: Experience in building and leading geographically distributed delivery teams, including experience working with customers' distributed teams and defining the right target operating model.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organization, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: Self-motivated, flexible, multitasking, and reliable in delivering on time, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
