Deck Supervisor - Part time leadership position

A day in the life as a Deck Supervisor:

You will be responsible for the success of swim lessons by leading your team through the day's lessons, communicating updates, activities and lesson themes. You'll also oversee the success of our swimmers by taking attendance, evaluating student progress and by offering occasional, one-on-one coaching to those who need it.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead pre-shift meeting to review lesson themes, focus skills and announcements
• Act as both a supervisor and a mentor to a team of 15-20 lifeguards and swim instructors
• Provide feedback and positive reinforcement to swimmers and swim instructors
• Evaluate students' progressed based on the Goldfish curriculum to determine if swimmers have met the goals to move into a new skill group
• Evaluate instructors and lifeguards when necessary to maintain Goldfish Swim School standards
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Ability to swim; everyone on our team is lifeguard, CPR & AED certified. You’ll go through our in-house lifeguard certification program as part of your training and you must pass a basic swim test (50 yards) to complete the course
• Must be able to commit to missing no more than one set of classes every 6 weeks (80-90% attendance) for each day you work
• You will find and prepare your own replacement when you aren’t able to work, leaving notes so that your substitute can be as fin-tastic as you are
• Ability to be in the water for up to 4 hours at a time; this is an in-water position in a chlorinated pool and can be difficult for individuals with sensitive skin without proper pre and post shift care
• Deck Supervisors are required to train as a Swim Instructor and maintain at least one perpetual shift as a Swim Instructor
  
  
  

Schedule:

• This position is a great opportunity for those ages 16 and up and others who are interested in an exciting, part time position. Your schedule will be created based on your availability and our set lesson times from:
• 9:00-1:00 and 4:00-8:00 Monday through Friday
• 9:00-4:00 on Saturday and 9:00am-5:00pm Sunday
• You’ll be scheduled for the same days each week (Ex. every Monday from 4:00-8:00) and arrive 15 minutes before lessons start to participate in the pre-shift meeting
• We won’t ask you to stay late at night, when lessons end, we go home!
