Job Summary
Monticello Middle School is looking for a highly qualified candidate to fulfill a Dean of Students / Activities Director at MMS. This person will work very closely with MS Administration, School Counselors, and School Social Workers to support and promote student success. The ability to work alongside staff and students in the problem solving process to support growth, relationships, and accountability will be very important. The Dean will administer building level programs, assist administration in discipline, and participate in supervision of students and student activities.
The Duties Of The Dean Of Students Will Include
Middle School Activities and Athletic Director
Day to day conflict resolution and discipline
Bus discipline (to include a positive, preventative component)
Support MTSS process within the building
Proactive work with equity and culturally responsive methods to engage students and families of color
Monitor school hallways and cafeterias
Coordinate Middle School safety patrol
Other duties as assigned both inside the Middle School/High School and within the District
Licensure And Experience
Valid Minnesota Teaching License
Administrator License or current participation in Admin licensure program preferred
Experience and training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods (or similar) required
Experience leading a program or group toward a common goal preferred
Essential Skills Required
Strong leadership and time management skills required
Effective teaming skills, willingness to be flexible and excellent attendance
Passionate about working with students
Skilled in instructional technologies and communication tools
Effective decision making skills while acting within the district policies, procedures and guidelines
