Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership and School Management
- Support the principal in analyzing data, setting of instructional goals, expectations, and objectives for the school
- Coordinate implementation of district approved curriculum, distribution of current curriculum guides and other instructional materials
- Assist with coordination of standardized test preparation
- Assist in the development and implementation of campus specific staff development
- Plan and coordinate tutorials, interventions, additional support and resources, and other instructional programs for students in need of assistance
- Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and that the findings are used to make instructional programs and services more effective within current guidelines, coordinate implementation of programs/courses for special populations of students
- Participate in developing the Campus Improvement Plan and assist with the curriculum-related activities such as program development and evaluation.
- Facilitate departmental activities directed toward implementation of action plans for instructional improvement
- Direct school resources and/or one's professional efforts to address the most pressing student needs, including intellectual, aesthetic, physical, social, vocational, emotional, and moral development needs
- Use appropriate and effective communication techniques with students, staff, parents and other system administrators
- Enhance feedback skills by conducting conferences with parents, students, and/or teachers concerning vital issues
- Develop and communicate to students, staff, and parents the school’s guidelines and expectations for student conduct
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities for the instructional and non-instructional staff of the assigned campus in accordance with the District’s policies and applicable laws in a timely manner
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner
Qualification Requirements

- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification
- Advanicing Educational Leadersip (AEL) certificate or its equivalent Instructional Leadership Development (ILD or ILT) or must be obtained within 3 months of start date as designated by the Department of School Leadership
- Board Approved T-TESS Certification or must be obtained within 3 months of start date as designated by the Department of School Leadership
- Minimum of 2 years Successful classroom teaching experience required
- Possess a moral and ethical compass
- Demonstrate a heart and passion for leadership
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage personnel
- Ability to coordinate campus functions
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
