About The Role

As a key team-member, you will lead multiple projects, including but not limited to, Server migration strategy to support data center migration, optimizing database performance, ensure data integrity, deploy and maintain High Availability solution, implement robust security measures, backup and recovery solutions as well as Replication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiently Install, configure, administer, and maintain SQL Servers in Production environment.
  • Design strategy for Data Center Migration efforts ensuring minimum system downtime.
  • Support system verification during upgrades and changes.
  • Deploy and maintain AlwaysOn Availability Group as a High Availability solution for mission critical Production databases.
  • Propose and implement best practice measures for database security, backup and recovery solutions, recovery models and performance tuning.
  • Apply necessary analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability issues.
  • Provide strategy, skills, directions, and standards to design and maintain an efficient Cloud-based data warehouse system ensuring quality and accuracy of data.
  • Support and maintain Replication and Log Shipping solutions for data movement.
  • Monitor system performance and integrity, provide corrective and preventative maintenance as required. Research and stay abreast of changes in Database technologies.
  • Proactively monitor Production systems to identify and resolve database-related issues independently.
  • Possess good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide production support and on-call support including problem analysis and resolution, including during and after work hours.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server Administration including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and recovery of Production environment.
  • Experience with high availability solutions such as clustering, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
  • In-depth understanding of database architecture and design principles, including normalization and indexing strategies.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server monitoring tools and query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database migration and upgrade processes as well as cloud-based solutions like Azure and AWS.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL Scripting and stored procedures optimization is essential.
  • Experience in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, highly desirable.
  • Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual project assignments with minimum supervision.

Reports to: DBA & Enterprise Analytics Manager

Occasional travel may be required (5% or less)
