Database Administrator

Peak Performers is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to assist in the transition of a large Excel spreadsheet containing confidential information into a robust and secure Access database system. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SQL for backend development, with experience in designing and implementing relational databases. This role requires the ability to gather requirements, design SQL table structures, develop Access front-end interfaces, and ensure seamless data migration from Excel to the database. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong communication skills to collaborate with users and stakeholders throughout the development process.Top of Form

Major duties:

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and users for the Access database system
  • Design and implement SQL database structures to support efficient data storage and retrieval
  • Develop Access front-end interfaces for users to manipulate data securely
  • Utilize relational database principles and ODBC connectivity to ensure smooth integration between Access and SQL backend
  • Create and manage user roles and permissions within the Access database system
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data literacy principles to optimize data usage and interpretation
  • Facilitate the migration of data from Excel spreadsheets to the Access database, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
  • Transform data as needed during the migration process to align with database requirements and standards
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the Access database system, including troubleshooting and performance optimization

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience in SQL database development, with expertise in designing and implementing relational databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access development, including creating forms, queries, and reports
  • Strong understanding of ODBC connectivity and data migration techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with data literacy concepts and best practices

  • Experience in Public Sector

About This Position

  • Rate: $80.00 per hour
  • Length of engagement: 9/1/2024 with extension options
  • Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM unless otherwise coordinated, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Austin, TX, (Hybrid) Candidates must be local to Texas
  • PLEASE NOTE: This role is not C2C
