THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Data Scientist you will have the opportunity to learn and apply RMS’ methodologies to solve analytical problems using quantitative and qualitative approaches that will be critical to driving high-end business value to our clients. This position requires an applied knowledge of Data Science and Deep Learning and the candidate demonstrating a working knowledge of SQL (or some other ETL), and Python.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll work in our Tampa office as part of our Research & Development team, reporting to the VP of Data Science and Analytics. You will work with the Data Science team to develop data products and perform exploratory data analysis and anomaly detection. This is a hybrid position, working in the office 3 days a week.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Implement scaled and systematic analytical solutions
Collect, transform, aggregate and create data sets for use in models
Work with large, complex data sets
Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, and apply advanced analytical methods as needed
Validating model performance
The ability to balance the “art and science” by solving analytical problems using quantitative and qualitative approaches that will be critical to driving high-end business value
Champion a data-driven culture and drive long-term business value creation through the development of best-in-class data science capabilities
Develop and maintain structured process documents, methodology documents and data dictionaries
Effectively and concisely articulate processes to internal and external parties
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of statistics, economics/econometrics and machine learning, algorithms
Hands-on experience coding in Python, R, or other advanced programming
Experience working with large datasets using SQL
Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects and deadlines
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a field with a quantitative and technical emphasis required
PREFERRED
Graduate degree, or supplementary courses in Economics, Data Science or Data Engineering
