The VR Developer Integrity Operations (DIO) team works closely with Legal, Design, Engineers, Operations, Product and Policy teams to ensure our integrity and privacy programs and enforcement operations are robust, efficient and scalable. We are looking for those interested and passionate about integrity, process and operations excellence, the metaverse, and the developers creating content for it.

The Data Privacy Specialist will be a critical part of the DIO team and will support the Integrity Programs Lead in day to day operations and escalations of key privacy and integrity programs. Day to day operations includes reviewing, triaging and closing out escalations from internal and external teams, identifying policy gaps, conducting quarterly audits, and management and updating of related forms and processes.

The Data Privacy Specialist is knowledgeable about our data policies and integrity compliance requirements. They leverage a deep understanding of the developer ecosystems, queue based tooling, and compliance processes. They use their visibility into the ecosystem to identify refinement opportunities for technical, integrity, ethics, safety, and privacy standards for 3rd party applications on the Meta Quest platform. The ideal candidate is curious, empathetic, principled, detail-oriented, and attuned to changing integrity and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

Support integrity and privacy programs, such as the DPA (Data Protection Assessment) for VR developers overseeing the end to end process, including updating the process and assessment form as needed Support internal and external escalations by leveraging policy, excellent communications and problem solving Work closely with Policy, Privacy, Legal, Developer Relations Engineering, TPMs and Comms teams to identify gaps in process and tooling and lead the way in identifying solutions and implementing them Identify solutions for any gaps affecting developer experience by working with relevant partners, advocating for platform level solutions to common issues Supporting policy rollouts while balancing impact on operations, developer experience and risk Complete regular data quality reviews and audits Experience assessing information for risk mitigation opportunity Develop and drive opportunities for continuous improvement Provide support to employee and internal stakeholder inquiries around relevant processes, policy, and issues Maintain a commitment to our service level agreements (SLAs) around responsiveness

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience supporting compliance programs
  • Experience managing policy escalations
  • Experience managing confidential data
  • Experience spotting risks and escalating as appropriate
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively
  • Experience managing and organizing multiple large document files with varying deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and various programs such as google suite, excel, project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Shared services or paralegal experience
  • Experience with policy development
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with data privacy, including GDPR, FTC, and risk/compliance management concepts in a global context
  • Experience working in a global, large-scale, complex, fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Working with third party developers
  • Familiarity with the VR or gaming industry

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, liberal arts, legal or business-related field
  • Working in compliance or a regulatory environment
  • Experience in tech (preferred)

Typical Day In The Role

  • Review status of open assessments and any upcoming assessments via an operational dashboard
  • Check for any internal escalations, respond to the inquirer and begin troubleshooting
  • Check with SMEs or Policy Manager for help with escalation
  • Provide solution to escalation, document and close out
  • Record areas of improvement to the form and process, bring up at next weekly sync
  • Participate in a team activity - regular meeting or Friday VR time as an example!
