Summary

You will provide analysis for small and clearly defined work efforts and interpret and translate data requirements into business and data solutions. You will contribute to the quality and progress of the data model and artifacts created by analysts and peers.

What You’ll Contribute Day-to-Day

  • Work within cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to utilize appropriate enterprise-level data sources analyze data requirements, and adhere to enterprise standards for delivering data solutions.
  • Integrate data into the enterprise data platform to maximize the value of our data assets.
  • Be aware of conceptual modeling tools and techniques to capture clear definitions of data elements to inform a well designed data model.
  • You are able to define user stories and tasks and can validate the impact of changes to datasets and data models.
  • With guidance, you can break up complex work into digestible work elements. You have a foundational knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
  • Ensure all technical database decisions result in coherent system designs which use the most effective methods and tools.
  • Have foundational understanding of the data management, data governance, data taxonomy, and data models and incorporate this into your work.
  • Translate technical aspects of data modeling into language that non-technical users can understand.
  • With guidance, you gather, structure, and analyze data to provide recommendations to your team.
  • Understand enterprise data lakes and Cloud data platforms.
  • Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data.
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction.
  • Complete data validations across systems.


You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have

  • Business Data Analysis Collects, identifies, analyzes, and interprets business data by using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
  • Data Analysis Quantifies information and sorts it for analysis. Analyzes data which may include investigating and highlighting trends, presenting, reporting on results, and providing conclusions and recommendations. Uses the appropriate tools (e.g., Excel) to conduct the analysis.
  • Data Cleansing Establishes templates for data cleaning, removes duplicates or corrupted data, formats data, and manages naming conventions, typos, inconsistencies, missing data, etc.
  • Data Engineering Develops and maintains the architecture that helps analyze and process data in the way the organization needs it.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting Uses varied tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data. Knows which data to collect and what would be useful to report on.
  • Data Governance Ensures high data quality exists throughout the complete data lifecycle. The key focus areas include availability, usability, consistency, data integrity, and data security.
  • Data Management Manages data requirements and how it is acquired. This includes source data, data entry, queries, quality control and correction, and the concept of a locked database.
  • Data Modeling Documents a complex software system design as an easily understood diagram, using text and symbols to represent the way data needs to flow. Uses the diagram to ensure efficient use of data, as a blueprint for the construction of new software or for re-engineering a legacy application.
  • Data Visualization Identifies, locates, manipulates, formats, and presents data graphically to communicate relationships and insights. Helps the audience “see” the patterns or trends in the data with more clarity. Uses software (e.g., Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, HighCharts, Flare, and others).
  • Data Wrangling Data wrangling, sometimes referred to as data munging, is the process of transforming and mapping data from one "raw" data form into another format with the intent of making it more appropriate and valuable for a variety of downstream purposes such as analytics.
  • IT Acumen Keeps abreast with trends, developments, and technologies within the field of Information Technology, locally and internationally. Understands the impact of these on the organization. Incorporates relevant trends to ensure organization's relevancy and competitiveness.
  • Pattern Analysis Manages big data to ensure the quality of data is good and accessible for big data analytics applications. Analyzes big data sets computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially relating to human behavior and interactions.
  • Principles of Information Technology Understands and implements the principles of information technology.
  • Python Uses Python to develop and maintain related applications and systems to meet business goals.
  • Requirements Analysis Evaluates systems requirements for software. Uses information gathered to inform the design of the software.
  • Technology Quotient Adapts, manages, and integrates technology based on the need of the organization or the project. Takes full advantage of available technology and the opportunities they present.

  • Data Savvy Identifies key information and data as well as relationships between different pieces of information. Uses business-related data presented in graphs, tables, and reports to generate solutions to a variety of problems, using statistical or other spreadsheeting skills.
  • Technical Credibility Demonstrates depth of knowledge and skill in a specific technical, functional, or professional area. Expertise in a particular process, function, technology, machine, material, or type of equipment. Leverages this knowledge to solve specific problems. Acquires and applies new skills to remain up to date in their area of expertise.
