Data Analyst - Business Process Improvement

Specific Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Successful candidates will be an organized self-starter capable of performing tasks without the need for constant oversight and experience successfully working in a team environment. Assist government personnel by providing consistent, responsive, and high-quality technical support with detailed analyses and strategic recommendations based on data analysis of business processes. Key duties will include:

  • Provide data analysis of data gathered from the evaluation of business processes to support improvements and new, innovative solutions
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports
  • Work closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Manage competing resources and priorities
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Identify effective solutions for business software system issues
  • Evaluate system performance and identify issues
  • Monitor and trouble shoot new system modifications or changes from a data perspective
  • Provide recommendations on system issues
  • Use a variety of data analysis and tools to discover process and system issues

Education

  • Master's degree in a related field/technical field

Skills And Experience

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance required at date of hire
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, to include process improvements (e.g., six sigma, business process management, lean, etc.)
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of various technologies
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook
  • A track record of following through on commitments
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • A history of supporting successful projects
