SUMMARY:

As a member of the Data Science team, you will work in a dynamic environment to support and drive the growth of the Company. The Data Analyst plays an integral role supporting several key functions for other business units in the Company, while also working on R&D to improve Elligo’s tech and data ecosystem. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, designing, and developing algorithms to mining various types of health data (primarily electronic medical record data), support informatics projects, data analysis and toolkit development, and developing reporting/dashboards for key company teams. This role will utilize Elligo’s data sources to create insights that can be understood by various stakeholders across Elligo to further the company’s business objectives.

Essential Duties

  • Assist Elligo Data Sciences team with developing and executing searches of electronic health record data to support company business objectives, e.g., identifying patients who may be eligible for participating in specific clinical research protocols
  • Review study protocols and other client requirements and support the development and implementation of data strategies to support client objectives, e.g., designing queries that identify a target patient population based on past medical history, demographics, etc.
  • Work with Data Sciences team to develop data tools and products that incorporate advanced technologies to support company business
  • Drive data quality and improvement efforts for key data products and systems
  • Develop structured and repeatable processes and tools for data analysis
  • Merge and organize the data in Microsoft Excel and other tools to produce data products
  • Provide support as required the EHR network access and trouble-shooting process
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret data to identify meaningful insights
  • Proficient with Python data manipulation/analysis tools (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc.) and SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to design complex query specifications based on parameters such as clinical trial protocol entry criteria
  • Proficiency in querying/analytics of healthcare electronic health record (EHR/EMR) and related data types
  • Understanding of ICD 9/10, CPT, SNOMED, and other important terminologies used within healthcare and clinical research industries
  • Knowledge of healthcare terms (e.g., general understanding of labs, procedures, medications)
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and complete tasks by agreed-upon timeframes
  • Detail oriented and committed to completing work accurately
  • Aptitude to work collaboratively with cross functional departments/groups and different levels of employees to identify quality solutions and effectively achieve business results
  • Intermediate level of skills with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Smartsheets, and SharePoint

Education And Experience

  • BS/BA in Healthcare Informatics or a related field
  • 2+ Years of Experience
  • Experience with medical terms and concepts, and identifying relevant medical codes to capture those terms and concepts highly preferred
  • Experience researching and developing specifications for complex queries based on business parameters/goals outlined in a variety of documentation (e.g. a clinical-trial protocol) highly preferred
  • Experience with using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to process and analyze disparate datasets preferred
  • Experience working within a busy and fast-paced start-up environment is a plus

Environment

This is a remote position operating in a home-office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and phones.

Minimal travel (up to 5%) may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.

  • Frequently stand/walk, grasp objects, and perform lightly/fine manipulation of objects.
  • Occasionally move safely over uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally reach/work above shoulders, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.

Requirements

BS/BA in Healthcare Informatics or a related field?

2+ Years of Experience
