Chemours is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our North America Customer Service (CS) team in the Thermal and Specialized Solutions (TSS) business, responsible for driving customer success and excellence! This position will be part of the sales function and report directly to the North America TSS Customer Service and Demand Manager.

The CS team drives the Chemours value of customer centricity and plays a central role in not only forming the “face” to the customer, but also understanding, shaping, fulfilling, and even exceeding the expectations of customers. The CS team has the responsibility to drive, manage and implement two-way customer service engagements. The Customer Service Specialist is a highly visible, key role within the TSS business’ customer support function. The Customer Service Specialist role works across the end-to-end Order to Cash Process. This role serves as a key liaison between customers and Chemours and requires interaction with multiple functions, including external purchasing personnel, sales, product managers, supply chain, demand management, warehousing, logistics, product stewardship, and finance. This role significantly interfaces with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, driving business process and tool continuous improvement/simplification along the way.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the end-to-end (E2E) Order-to-Cash (OTC) process, including:
    • Onboard new customers
    • Process customer orders and returns directly in ERP system and/or with the aid of eCommerce platforms such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and customer portal
    • Develop and manage customer relationships
    • Monitor orders through delivery and invoicing, and reduce/eliminate disruptions to the OTC process flow
    • Navigate tight supply situations
    • Initiate customer complaint investigations as needed
    • Follow up on invoicing/Accounts Receivables disputes
    • Implement pricing policies and changes
    • Work in accordance with internal control requirements
    • Capture and relay key information to the sales team based on customer input
  • Collaborate and communicate with Customers, Sales, Supply Chain, Demand, Finance, and other cross-functions who have direct/indirect impact on E2E order fulfillment
  • Drive simplification initiatives to streamline work processes and tools that enable improving the customer experience

The Following Is Required For This Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 3 years or more experience in a customer service or customer-facing role
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; teamwork and collaboration skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organization; and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of IT tools and proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; possess a positive, customer-centric mindset; ability to work autonomously, with minimal daily direction


The Following Is Preferred For This Role

  • Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP) and/or CRM tools (such as Salesforce.com)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to effectively manage through change.
  • Process improvement and simplification mindset
  • Experience working within a chemical manufacturing industry.
