Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Specialist, you'll be one of the first contacts between the newspaper and our subscribers and classified advertisers. Your responsibilities will include:
Taking ownership of customer concerns and ensuring resolutions.
Investigating and resolving customer issues promptly and efficiently.
Making independent decisions following established guidelines.
Maintaining a customer-centric approach with both subscribers and classified clients.
Assisting with both in-bound call and walk-in customers.
Assisting the advertising department by helping customers place their classified ads.
Assist the single copy manager with out-bound calls to retail clients to report on unsold copies, as needed.
Assist Circulation manager with promotional programs as needed.
To Thrive In This Role, You Should Possess
A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
A passion for customer service, customer retention, and problem-solving.
Experience working in retail or sales is preferred.
Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to diffuse challenging situations.
Strong time management skills to excel in a fast-paced environment.
High Accuracy rate in your work including communications, documentation, etc.
Self-motivated, creative, flexible, willing to take initiative, be accountable, and able to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to accurately complete basic math calculations.
Knowledge of Micro soft products preferred.
Ability to learn and use computers and software.
