About the Company  

 

Iotron, Inc is a US company with operations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. We are a premier manufacturer of important medical radioisotopes for nuclear medicine applications.   Our lead product is copper-67, a beta-emitting therapeutic isotope being used in North America and Europe in clinical and pre-clinical research.  At least two companies are conducting clinical trials using this isotope.  The copper-67 isotope is considered an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.   

 

 About the Role 

This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the President of Iotron Medical. You will serve as the central link between company leadership, manufacturing, distribution, and our customers. The commercial product must consistently meet specifications for use by our customers in the synthesis of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and pre-clinical research.  This position will be responsible for developing a just-in-time distributing system capable of shipping radioactive products in a timely manner under federally required standards to customers in North America, Europe, and elsewhere.  Close communication and coordination with our Saskatchewan manufacturing is required to ensure on-time delivery, including regulatory clearance.  Engaging with customers to ensure timely delivery, quality standards are met and addressing any customer issues is critical. Planning and maintaining tight communication with leadership and the customer for scheduling and customer requirements is essential in building and maintaining a critical delivery system.  This role is a full- time, permanent position located in Massachusetts with the ability to travel. Your principal responsibilities will be to lead the shipment, transportation and delivery systems for our products.  

Duties of this position include: 

  • Establish and lead an operational readiness / production delivery and shipment process for the Copper-67 product that emphasizes quality, reliability of supply, communication, and service.  This must include close coordination with manufacturing and customer expectations to ensure proper regulatory compliance and safe delivery of our product.  
  • Excellent project management, budgeting, scheduling skills for just-in-time products is essential. Working with Hazardous materials and understanding the legal and safety requirements for international shipment. 
  • Propose and establish a rigorous training program and communication for employees, customers and vendors which includes GMP compliance, control of radioactive material, safety and occupational health, environmental controls, process reliability and other mission-critical knowledge and skills.   
  • Engage with customers on unique customer requirements and trouble shoot any issues that arise. 
  • Instill a continuously improving mindset and continually adapt and change requirements with the changing regulatory and safety climate.  
  • Keep detailed system and product details.  
  • Help create and sustain a work environment that is respectful, focused on quality and meeting key milestones that engages employees.   

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 2-3 years transportation experience including some international shipping experience  
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Experience working with HazMat materials.  Current certifications (IATA and DOT training) 
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Analytical skills 
  • Multi-tasking and project management knowledge 
  • Ability to help and resolve client issues and communicate effectively. 
  • Bachelor’s degree plus experience in a relevant field such the customer service or hazardous materials logistics / shipping fields with a preference for those with experience in both.
