We’re seeking a curriculum specialist in the area of English language instruction, reading instruction, and curriculum design at the elementary school level. This person will also have an interest in education technology. Working as part of a team of education researchers and content designers, the curriculum specialist will operate as a subject-matter expert in enhancing an English Language Development (ELD) program for emergent bilinguals.
The Curriculum Specialist will work on fast-paced projects that require adherence to deadlines, attention to detail, cross-functional collaboration, and a drive for quality.
Job Responsibilities
Supports strategic curriculum objectives for literacy and language content development in alignment with established parameters
Writes and supports the creation of new and enhanced instructional content for curriculum programs, according to specifications, with attention to factors impacting equity and accessibility for students
Inputs content into a content management system (CMS) and troubleshoots issues with cross-functional colleagues
Enables strong systems and processes by maintaining documentation, addressing prioritized content issues, and collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to support efficient and high-quality workflows
Creates and maintains documentation related to activity design and development
Addresses content issues that arise in the online application and participates in internal content reviews
Contributes to the creation of curriculum-related resources and responses for customer-facing teams
Supports the cross-functional product team to implement new and enhanced instructional features, providing an educational perspective
Participates in product research projects, including reviewing student data, educator feedback, and user-study protocols and results
Contributes to content production by completing content entry into a content management system (CMS), participating in audio production, and reviewing new content
Conducts literature reviews and consolidates information from industry leaders related to content enhancements
Maintains knowledge of literacy research and trends through ongoing professional development and intentionally applies that knowledge to content design
Job Requirements
Master’s degree in Education or related field required
3+ years relevant work experience
Experience writing educational content for technology-based curriculum products preferred
Direct classroom experience providing language and literacy instruction to multilingual learners preferred
Knowledge of best practices for language and literacy instruction for emergent bilinguals, reading development and instruction, culturally responsive teaching principles, and elementary education
Expertise in using digital tools for coordinating workflows and documenting plans and outcomes
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solid organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
A track record of quality work and excellent references
Willingness to learn and continuously improve in all functional skill areas
Flexibility to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
