Curriculum Specialist

The middle school Curriculum Specialist will support teachers in the continued implementation and instruction of our district-adopted Pearson curriculum. He/she will provide collaborative and one-on-one instructional coaching and will facilitate teacher inquiry and related professional development. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our secondary writing and grammar initiatives within the district.

The curriculum specialist will work with administrators and teachers to align their work with school and district priorities. He/she will lead data sessions and PLC’s that look at both formative/summative assessment results and suggest/monitor intervention strategies and materials for all students.

The curriculum specialist will focus on enhancing teachers' ability to provide proven instructional strategies to support all students. As a member of a professional coaching community, the curriculum ELA curriculum specialist will need to work collaboratively with other secondary schools, as well as meet with the Director of Secondary Schools on a regular basis.

It is our goal that Anderson County students become lifelong learners with effective communication skills that enables them to be successful citizens of their communities.

This is a certified position.

Job Qualifications

A valid teacher license, master’s degree preferred.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Interpersonal skills, emphasizing persuasiveness and consensus building.

Minimum of professional license with three years of teaching experience.

A well-versed, working knowledge of TN ELA standards as well as various modes of writing
