Qualifications

Certification by the Kentucky Department of Education

Master’s Degree in Teaching

Five (5) years of teaching experience highly desired

REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment

JOB GOAL: Grow and support teachers in effective instructional strategies to improve student achievement. Support teachers in the development and implementation of curriculum.

Physical Demands

Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights up to thirty (30) pounds.

Performance Responsibilities

Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics as established by the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).

Incorporate the diverse perspectives of multiple communities and backgrounds in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.

Understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities.

Articulate the district’s vision and mission in a clear and concise way that is understood at any level.

Collaborate with the district leadership team to ensure successful development of new approaches to teaching and learning including resource acquisition and alignment to the strategic plan.

Assume responsibility for own professional growth and development; keep current with literature, and attend professional meetings, workshops, and seminars as they relate to performance responsibilities.

Facilitate and support teachers in understanding of best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Design job-embedded professional development for teachers and classified instructional staff.

Engage with teams in Professional Learning Communities to support student learning, build and maintain a collaborative culture.

Utilize cognitive coaching, student-centered coaching, or content coaching strategies to support teachers in designing instruction.

Meet with individuals or teams of teachers on a regular basis to impact student achievement.

Serve as a resource to all instructional staff to impact student achievement.

Maintain knowledge and understanding of Kentucky Academic Standards and facilitate district curriculum alignment tasks.

Maintain knowledge and understanding of assessment practices.

Maintain confidentiality with all staff.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
