Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care
- Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS),
with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating
exposure.
- Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.
- After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patients abilities and condition, selects the most

- Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media.
- Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient
- Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure
- Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts, from the patient and from the
- Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times (start and stop),
- Documents patient and exam occurrences in the appropriate Imaging software database, to include exam

- The technologist provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired
- The technologist practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated
- The technologist complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and works to reduce hospital acquired

- Comply with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Regularly applies AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) as well as other
