Credit Analyst -- Remote | WFH

Duties & Responsibilities

Underwrite Loans: Assess consumer and select small business loan applications, ensuring they meet underwriting guidelines.

Credit Risk Analysis: Perform thorough credit risk analysis for a designated pipeline of consumer loan applications.

Loan Processing: Initiate the loan opening process, submit complete applications for pre-approval, and prepare all required disclosures within regulatory timelines.

Risk Mitigation: Analyze risk factors, including applicant credit quality, repayment ability, and collateral valuation, to mitigate loan risk.

Financial Analysis: Review tax returns and financial statements to determine applicant cash-flows and loan repayment capacity.

Loan Presentations: Prepare formal loan presentations for senior colleagues and loan committees.

Documentation Review: Ensure the accuracy and authenticity of supporting loan documents.

Client Interaction: Occasionally negotiate loan-related transactions with clients in a professional and courteous manner.

Collaboration: Regularly interact with internal and external business partners, applying relevant policies and regulations consistently.

Project Management: Conduct and complete additional assignments and projects as designated by management.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licensing: May require registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).

Experience: Minimum three years of consumer loan experience with a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage loan process from origination to closing.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using DecisionPro, MortgageBot, and other web-based loan origination systems, as well as experience with Loan Prospector (LP) or Desktop Underwriter (DU).

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products and applications.

Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail in reviewing credit reports, tax returns, asset accounts, and business financial statements.

Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Communication: Demonstrated ability to convey thoughts and ideas effectively in written formats, maintaining high standards of spelling and grammar.

Professionalism: Comfortable speaking with internal and external contacts, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with internal partners, adopting a solutions-focused approach.

Judgment: Use sound professional judgment to balance organizational and customer interests, mitigating risks appropriately.

Adaptability: Ability to learn new systems and applications, understanding and adjusting responsibilities/workflows as needed.

Work Environment

Hours: Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as required.
