Credit Analyst

Job Description

Jules and Associates, one of the top independent leasing companies in the USA, is looking to hire a motivated Credit Analyst to review credit packages, complete cash flow analysis, and review financial statements identifying trends, changes, and anomalies. This is a full-time, in-person position, and would require the Credit Analyst to be in the office Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Credit Analyst will report to the Vice President of Jules and Associates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and review all relevant financial statements for prospect client, including spreading financial statements (cash flow analysis), analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks, trends, changes, anomalies and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc.
  • Prepare a detailed list of credit review questions to be discussed during credit call(s) with customers.
  • Prepare a thorough credit underwriting document/memo identifying credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends, other pertinent credit issues, as well as detailing the nature of the transaction (brief synopsis on company; structure of transaction; purpose/justification) for circulation to syndication partner(s), etc.
  • Submit transaction(s) to the appropriate syndication partner(s) ensuring accuracy and completeness of the submission.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly (i.e., customer engagement).
  • Act as a liaison between the sales and credit departments, providing pricing and credit reviews for proposed transactions.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand client needs and provide tailored credit solutions.
  • Assist Sales Manager/Relationship Managers in structuring transactions, as applicable. Provide guidance and feedback to Sales Manager/Relationship Managers throughout the duration of the credit placement/due diligence process.
  • Work closely with our various syndication partners, and when applicable address all requests/concerns in a timely manner.
  • Sell loan/lease financing packages to debt sources, effectively negotiating transactions even when they deviate from the original proposal.
  • Complete credit extensions and provide support to the documentation department until final funding when applicable.
  • Ensure all credit documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies
  • Learn and adhere to the guidelines of our various syndication partners to accurately pair submissions and increase the probability of obtaining positive results.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, with a concentration in accounting/finance, is preferred.
  • Outstanding business development skills with a strong emphasis on negotiation and problem-solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively, competently, and persuasively with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit evaluation techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • A minimum of three years of commercial credit process experience in the banking or financial industry is preferred, though not strictly required.
  • Experience in equipment finance or leasing is highly desirable.
  • Must be highly motivated, and initiative-taker that is supportive of company initiatives.
